'Colorado' Dare Rudd and Bate Fillmore have been enemies since childhood because of their affection for Nell Worstall. Dare heads to western Colorado, as do most of his friends and enemies from Kentucky. However, the feud between Dare and Bate flares up again and Dare learns that Nell's father is in prison because of a false accusation from Bate. Bate thus wants to force him to marry his daughter Nell.
