Midden in de Winternacht plot

A week before Christmas, Max sees a very large moose fall through the roof of the barn. This moose, named Moos, turns out to be able to talk! Not only that, he also works for Santa Claus. Moos always makes the test flights with Santa Claus, before the reindeer do the real work at Christmas. Unfortunately, Moos has lost control of the sleigh and Santa has crashed far away from him. So now he has to find Santa Claus as fast as he can, otherwise no one will get a Christmas present this year. Will Max and Moos be able to find Santa Claus and get the sleigh back in the air in time?

A very nice Christmas film for young and old and there are not many of them from this country.

I can't think of one right now, by the way.

Nice humor and a funny story...the acting is also above average for Dutch films/concepts.

Recommended for the whole family.

The lonely son of a divorced mother takes in a rather bizarre creature that fell from the sky and develops a special friendship with it... What does that remind me of again? No matter, this is a friendly and endearing children's film with beautiful locations; it's just a shame the moose has such a lifeless appearance. Great performances by Arjan Ederveen as the angry neighbor Panneman and Carla Hardy as the determined grandma who sometimes wants to take advantage of (Santa) Claus.

Max [Dennis Reinsma] blames his father for leaving him to spend Christmas alone with his mother, Kirsten [Jelka van Houten], and his wise-cracking little sister [Dana Goldberg]. His grumbling is interrupted when he finds Moos the moose [voiced by Jeroen van Koningsbrugge] in the basement. Moos has crashed during a test drive for Santa Claus and needs medical attention while he recovers from a minor injury. A highly entertaining family film with a funny performance by Derek de Lint as a Santa Claus who doesn't quite live up to expectations, but the best moments belong to Arjan Ederveen, who shines as the nasty Neighbor Panneman, who hates children but takes every opportunity to ingratiate himself with his mother, Kirsten.
