Close Encounters with Vilmos Zsigmond plot
"Un documentaire de Pierre Filmon"
Four days after Haskell Wexler (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?) passed away on New Year's Day with another legendary cameraman Vilmos Zsigmond. The former, together with other prominent directors of photography, sheds light on how the Hungarian expatriate influenced their work and American cinema in this documentary. Actors and directors take a seat, but the core is a conversation with the virtuoso himself about his hallucinatory oeuvre for Michael Cimino (Heaven's Gate, The Deer Hunter), Brian De Palma (Obsession, Blow Out) and Steven Spielberg (Close Encounters of the Third Kind).
