Das Tagebuch des Dr. Hart plot

dr. Robert Hart (Heinrich Schroth) visits a friend in Saxony in July 1914. Here he hears about the Austrian ultimatum to Serbia. He immediately leaves for his hometown. Arriving in his hometown, he befriends the Polish count Bransky and his daughter Jadwiga (Dagny Servaes). He also meets the Russian ambassador Bronislaw Krascinsky (Ernst Hofmann). Bronislaw is madly in love with Jadwiga and for that reason jealous of Dr. Heart. After the outbreak of war, Dr. Working heart close to the Polish front line. Bronislaw is stationed in the same area as a soldier and they meet again under less favorable circumstances...
