Kaminnyy Khrest plot
A farming family has worked the same hill for generations in a small community of landowners, but in modern times they can no longer keep up. The youngest members of the family have decided to emigrate to Canada, but the old father feels like he is dying. He places a stone cross on top of his hill so that the rest of the village will remember them.
