Little Black Spiders plot
Belgium, 1978. There is a place that is kept silent. An attic in a hospital where pregnant teenage girls secretly await their birth. Katja, Roxy, and a bunch of other high-spirited girls are too young for love and almost mother. Some want to put this misstep behind them as soon as possible, but Katja, an orphan herself, clearly thinks otherwise. She longs deeply for her baby. In the attic, the girls share joys and sorrows, forge friendships and seek distraction in an invented universe of carefree dreams and mysterious games during the long, long wait. Until that safe bubble bursts. Suddenly Katja becomes painfully aware of the plans being made behind her back. However, she has no intention of letting this happen to her or her baby.
