"A Nation's Fate Flies by Night on a Secret Mission!"

China, 1943. With no lights on, a bus drives through the torrential rain down the muddy Assam Road. The bus is on its way from Chunking to the Indian border. The bus passengers include Albert Pasavy, a European of unknown nationality, the missionary Dr. Van Der Liden, the French officer Major Raoul Brissac and the Belarusian Countess Olga Karagin. Also traveling along is the old Chinese Madame Woo, who is on an important diplomatic mission to India, and her traveling companion, the American Red Cross nurse Ann Richards. The journey comes to a halt as Japanese planes bomb the road. This bombardment hits a truck with ammunition, killing many Chinese soldiers. The Chinese commander puts the wounded soldiers on the bus and sends them to a nearby secret airport, where American Captain Nick Stanton is in charge. Stanton wants to put the bus passengers on a plane to India, but then finds out that Countess Olga Karagin is a spy.
