The Half-Breed plot
The young Lo Dorman lives like a pariah outside of society; he is a half-breed and therefore a little accepted appearance. Nellie, the preacher's daughter, doesn't give a damn about his mixed parentage, and Nellie helps Dorman blend in with the crowd. Dorman's presence is not appreciated by Sheriff Dunne, who does everything to make Dorman look bad. The town's residents are unaware that Dunne is Dorman's father.
