While working out a plan for a new residential area, the 33-year-old architect Mis realizes that he wants to stay true to his ideals. He refuses to be bribed. His refusal to sign a compromise gradually isolates him from society and also leads to a rift in his private life.

Typical 1980s film about the despair and hope of a generation. The brutalist architecture aptly captures the communist era. With matching soundtrack by Jacek Kaczmarski, the bard of Solidarnosç. The prayer until sunrise (Modlitwa o wschodzie slonca) evokes quite a few nostalgic feelings.
