Martine, a 23-year-old artist from New York, arrives in Los Angeles to stay in the outbuilding of a family home in the hilly community of Silver Lake. Her father Pete has agreed to help her complete her art film as a favor to his wife. The innocent Martine enters the seemingly idyllic life of this open-minded family with two children. But because of her arrival, everyone is confronted with his or her own fears and desires.
