Before the White Man Came plot

After a purification ceremony, Big Elk asks for the hand of the beautiful Che-wee-na, but White Wolf, the son of the chieftain of a rival tribe, is determined to make the girl his own. A battle between the two rivals is won by Big Elk. White Wolf retaliates by kidnapping one of the women of Big Elk's tribe. During another raid by White Wolf and his men, Big Elk's camp is targeted; several men are killed and Che-wee-na is kidnapped. Che-wee-na is about to be killed at the stake.
