Du Bist Wunderbar plot

Claudia (Caterina Valente) is a poor seamstress from a French port. She falls for the charms of the romantic German naval officer Willi (Dietmar Schönherr), but he has to quickly return to sea with his ship. Willi promises to be back soon and marry Caterina, but when a long time passes, she fears the worst. Caterina goes to Hamburg to find Willi at the address he gave her, but it turns out to be a cheap hotel. She gets the help of a helpful naval officer in her search for the love of her life, but without success...
