Most plot

The Partisans want to check how the German defenses are set up. The partisans send a team of explosives experts to blow up a strategically important bridge. This bridge is very closely guarded and almost indestructible. The only man who knows the weak parts of the bridge is the architect who designed the bridge. He is not willing to cooperate because otherwise his 'masterpiece' will be destroyed.

This even seems to have been Sylvester Stallone's favorite partisan movie. Undoubtedly an inspiration for Rambo: First Blood Part II and III. The caliber machine gun can't be heavy enough. They even use a Zastava M55, a triple automatic anti-aircraft gun of the Yugoslav army, to mow down as many Germans as possible. The Germans are also very easy to trap, by the way. But yes, if the partisans start catching hand grenades and sending them back to sender, it will be a difficult job to keep the bridge in their hands.

Germans speak German, Yugoslavs Serbo-Croatian and Italian partisans of course Italian. The battle song Bella Ciao is played every 5 minutes, ad nauseam.

Not the best partisan film. But a high entertainment value and the decor of the bridge and the mountains is beautiful. Nice shots when the explosives man goes to work.
