Oviri plot
In 1893 Gaugin returns from Tahiti to hold an exhibition in Paris. Unfortunately, he is not successful in doing so. He is also unlucky in his private life. He no longer lives with his wife and children, and his beloved abandons him. He decides to retire to the Breton countryside with his new mistress and some friends. Disillusioned, however, he returns to the city. There, nothing but poverty awaits him, and he is forced to sell the artworks of his beloved friend Vincent van Gogh in order to return to Tahiti.
