Midori-ko plot

Young Midori has been a vegetarian since childhood and even in a post-apocalyptic Tokyo during a time of severe food shortages, she refuses to eat meat. She tries to sell vegetables and as a biotechnologist to create a dream food that will solve the food problems in her city. One day she discovers a vegetable with arms, legs and a face. Midori-ko, as she calls the vegetable, even seems to be intelligent. However, before she can trace the origin of this creature, she is already besieged by scientists who claim to be the creators of Midori-ko. To save Midori-ko, Midori must fight off these ominous creatures, as well as her hungry neighbors.
