Word of Honor plot

Mike (Karl Malden) is a journalist in a small American town. At one point, he comes across an important testimony accusing a wealthy industrialist of murdering a young girl. The judge forces him to reveal his source, but he refuses because he has sworn on his parole to protect the identity of his source. In this way, however, he himself ends up in prison while the murderer is still free. Then New York reporter David Lerner (Ron Silver) shows interest in the case.
