"My children, and all the people in the future– may they never face that terrible tragedy again!"
After the atomic bombing of Nagasaki, a surgeon and his children survive. His wife does not survive the attack. Soon the doctor develops the symptoms of radiation sickness and leukemia and is admitted for treatment. His children drag him through all the misery and give him the strength to fight on. Feeling his death approaching, he decides to write his memoirs. Based on the book by Nagai Takashi.
