Der Chinese plot
On a cold day in January 2006, the police in the town of Hudiksvall make a horrifying discovery: a massacre has taken place. Nineteen people have been brutally murdered. When Birgitta Roslin, judge in Helsingborg, reads the reports about it, she is stunned. Nearly all the victims, including her parents, are her relatives. Because the police find no trace of the perpetrator and have no leads for further investigation, Birgitta decides to investigate the case herself. The investigation takes Birgitta to the past and leads her to different continents. In Beijing, she is brutally introduced to the elite who hold power. She discovers that murders from 160 years ago are somehow related to the recent murders.
