Dny Zrady plot

British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain waved his umbrella enthusiastically and triumphantly proclaimed that 'from now on a time of peace has come', after the signing of a treaty in Munich on September 30, 1939. The fact that Czechoslovakia came into the hands of Hitler as a present was not ignored. even though the Czech politicians were not even invited to the conference. This film recreates this crucial meeting between Hitler, Chamberlain, Mussolini and French Prime Minister Daladier. It becomes clear how the excessive courtesy with which the others treat Hitler only feeds his contempt and sense of superiority and in his view justifies his invasion of Poland.

First part of the war trilogy by director Vávra about the annexation of the Sudetenland in 1938. Part two with the execution of Heydrich and the battle of Sokolovo has yet to be added by Baggerman

Such a historical film stands or falls with the portrayal of the protagonist, Adolf Hitler. And Gunnar Möller is having a party. Great performance with the right poses and a stirring speech at the party conference.

Germans speak German. Chamberlain and the rest Czech.

However, it is not so bad when it comes to courtesy. The Munich Treaty was more of a Diktat. This is also how it is presented by von Ribbentrop. Chamberlain's facial expressions reveal it all.

Nevertheless, it was of course a betrayal by the English and French towards the Czechs. The Slovaks, Hungarians and Poles also eagerly participated in the dismantling of Czechoslovakia.
