Not very interesting movie. The part that took place in Tehran I found by far the most interesting. If you pay attention, it gave a somewhat clear picture of Iran under the yoke of the strict Islamic regime there, which I detested. The children at school with those white headscarves says enough. Well, and of course you shouldn't have it from the police, especially if you want information about your missing wife and daughter. But yes, the life of a woman is nothing in those kinds of countries. So far Tehran.
The part that took place in the sometimes mist-cloaked forest I found quite sleep-inducing, there seemed to be no end to it and the ending that should actually be the climax I found a downright letdown. So this movie left me with a very unsatisfied feeling. Nevertheless, Iranian directors have proven to have talent. This film had quite a few visually beautiful scenes, but I think - well, I'm sure - it's that suffocating dictatorship that gets in the way of the directors. I hope at least one day to see an Iranian film made in a democratic Iran, liberated from those ayatollahs.

A revenge movie actually, but on the wrong people and quite random. Difficult to empathize with the main character. That in itself doesn't have to be a problem if everything else is in the right place, but things sometimes go wrong there too.
A movie with some loose ends. The fact that there is little dialogue does not help either. Although the plot is clear, the film still comes across as muddled. Possibly some tinkering with the whole is required here and there. A somewhat light version has been made of the Iranian regime. Maybe that's why everything seems so flat in terms of tension and characters...
