War Stories plot

Cynical and hard-hitting American war correspondent Ben Dansmore (Jeff Goldblum) is dismayed when he is assigned to a new photographer and partner so soon after his predecessor (who was his best friend) literally blows up while they were covering a story. "Truth doesn't exist, that's why they call it stories." That's Ben's philosophy, one he hopes to pass on to perfectionist young Nora Stone (Lake Bell). But Nora, whose sister was killed in the September 11 attacks, refuses to be as cold and emotionless as Ben. It takes a series of near-death experiences for Ben and Nora to find the common traits that are so important to their future partnership.
