The Theory of Flight plot

Richard Hopkins is a dreamer obsessed with airplanes. He builds strange machines himself to defy gravity, but without success. After another failed 'flight', this time from the roof of the bank building, he is sentenced to 120 hours of social services. He meets Jane, a young woman who is terminally ill and has to spend the rest of her life in a wheelchair.
