Dieci Italiani per un Tedesco (Via Rasella) plot
In March 1944, Italian freedom fighters in Rome attempt to attack a unit of German soldiers. 33 soldiers are killed. The retaliation from the Nazis is brutal. For every German who died, ten Italians will be executed. In the following hours, 335 Italian men are herded together: prisoners, political opponents, but also Jews and other Roman citizens. None of them have any idea what the Germans are up to.
