A Closed Book plot

"She has a secret he can’t see"

Paul, a distinguished author, became blind in a serious accident. He places an ad for an assistant to help him write. He hires the charming Jane Ryder. Jane turns out to be ideal: pretty, intelligent and able to cope with his sometimes eccentric behaviour. Jane, however, appears to still have an agenda. Slowly she changes things in Paul's familiar environment and he becomes more and more dependent on his new assistant. Jane plays increasingly sadistic games until their relationship is broken.

Very witty film, courtesy of Tom Conti as the eccentric writer Sir Paul who has retired to his large country house after a bad car accident that left him blind . Jesus what a rendition haha.. About his housekeeper: "Mrs. Kilbride doesn't know the difference between a Holbein or a whore's ass." haha..

Also laughed a lot at that part about Madonna:

"Are you a fan?"

"Don't be grotesque."

And when he's in the bath and Jane (Daryl Hannah) asks if she can come in: "Don't be silly, I'm 110 years old.."

The plot may be a bit thin, but fortunately the film does not quite follow the beaten track of a typical Hollywood thriller. As a result, less predictable and an ending that is not so clichéd.

What a horribly bad movie, the reviews were not so good and rightly so, I have to admit that I didn't finish watching it. The only scare moment was Daryl Hannah's head, plastic surgery not quite successful...
