Los Angeles, the 1930s. The young artist Tod Hackett manages to find work at a major Hollywood studio. He is still full of hopes and dreams. He meets the aspiring but not-so-talented actress Faye Greener, whom he falls in love with almost immediately, and her father Harry, a former vaudeville performer who now sells door-to-door. However, Faye also meets Homer Simpson, an accountant who is not exactly feeling well, and that complicates things...
