Falling Awake plot

Falling Awake is about Jay, a young Latino musician in the Bronx who searches for his identity. He lives in a crowded house with relatives, and a neighborhood of loyal friends and dangerous enemies. After he meets the beautiful Alessandra from Manhattan, his conviction grows that he wants to reach a bigger world and fulfill his musical dreams. But he is bound by the loyalty of his friends and brother (an ex-Marine), and the expectations of his frustrated, angry father. Trying to break the cycle of fear and violence that dominate his life and neighborhood, Jay finds that only love can help him realize his elusive chance for happiness. In this way, he gains new insights that enable him to take this deep, uncertain leap in his future.
