The Kreutzer Sonata plot

"Love turns to jealousy, jealousy to rage, rage to violence."

Edgar has planned a benefit dinner at his home to support African war victims. The eye-catcher of the evening is a performance by the professional violinist Aidan and Edgar's wife Abby, who together perform Beethoven's ninth sonata. Abby herself gave up her career as a concert pianist in order to educate Edgard's children. However, this sonata has a strong history, and Edgar simply does not believe that Aidan and his wife Abby are not having an affair. Blinded by jealousy, he contemplates committing an ultimate act against the alleged lovebirds.
