The Gathering plot

"Dying father (Ed Asner) pulls his torn family together for a last Christmas."

Throughout his life, Adam Thorton has cared more about his career than his family. His wife Mary has left him, and his children have left home as early as possible. But when Adam learns that he has cancer and has only days to live, he decides to get his whole family back together for the last time on Christmas Eve.
