Vénus Aveugle plot

Clarisse is a beautiful young woman posing for the advertisement of the cigarette brand "Venus". However, she suffers from impaired vision and learns from the doctor that she will soon become blind. She returns with her sister to her house: a moored boat where she lives with her lover, a former sailor. Her lover wants her to take in a nurse, but Clarisse doesn't like that and wants to leave. She gestures that she has been unfaithful to him, which makes him rage and he leaves. Clarisse takes her first job again, singing in a cabaret. But then it turns out she's pregnant...
