"An unpaved road movie from Peru"

When Matt, in his thirties, reads the letters his mother wrote before her death, he decides to follow the trail of her last journey through Peru. What follows is an intriguing and at times bizarre journey, from the shamans high in the Andes to traditional healers deep in the Amazon forest. Matt undergoes the same traditional rituals as his parents twenty years earlier. They were there looking for alternative treatments for her incurable disease. During that journey they disappeared without a trace. Matt and the local authorities each have their own take on this event. On his journey he learns more and more about Peru and the mission that his parents brought there. The raw truth about their deaths gives a radical twist to the story.
