A Rumor of War plot

The year is 1965. Philip 'Phil' Caputo, an American student, joins the United States Marine Corps at the age of 23 to experience the Vietnam War. After serving in the war for several months, he was promoted to Lieutenant. But all seems to be over when he is accused of murdering an innocent civilian.
