De Punt could well be a sequel to Wijster. All this time I didn't even know that 2 trains were hijacked, always thought that the one in Wijster was the only one. But De Punt was certainly a very successful telefilm that often cuts in. We regularly make jumps in time: the time now, in which all Moluccans and those present at that train hijacking are all invited to a TV program, and in the meantime also the train hijacking itself, which is told very extensively and neatly. How it is prepared, the hijackers are introduced and that female responsible Noor was also portrayed very strongly. The train hijacking was again very special and realistically put together. And I especially thought that Yvonne was one of the very best roles of both the 70s and the present. Every now and then the Hollywood content is in here and there. This movie is much better than Wijster. Also harder and rougher.

The TV presentation was also very effective and catchy. Also that minister who was brought in, you could just see that it is (has been) a big dick.

Also a very good movie.

Richly variegated reconstruction of the train hijacking at De Punt in 1977. Director Smitsman chooses a hijacker, the father of the dead capper, a traveler, a soldier and the responsible minister (who were all involved in the tragedy in one way or another) to share their experiences and point of view through flashbacks. This creates a balanced whole that shows how mistakes have been made on both sides of the drama. The result is a fascinating film, which mainly focuses on the role of Hansina Uktolseja (Noor in the film). My only point of criticism is that it is all very business-like. I would have liked a little more emotion.

Mme.

A film with a clear message, but in my opinion it lacks a crucial element: credibility. This is partly due to the cast, which plays boringly and with little conviction to really come across as believable.

In addition, the film itself does not always seem credible, the characters behave abnormally, the idea for the hijacking suddenly appears on your plate. What is good is that the film does not take too long to show the hijacking.

The hijacking itself is interesting, unfortunately I didn't find the interviews that go in between that too interesting, but they were at least a bit more believable emotionally. Especially that father was good, for the rest the film is mwa. Sometimes it's good to get down to the facts.

For the rest, this is not too special. Good subject, should have been developed more credibly.
