Angst plot

How does main character Sylvia manage not to sleep for weeks on end, why is it so complicated for Nienke to move among the waiting mothers in the schoolyard, and why does Dieuwke think that - even though she has been under the shower for hours - she is dirty and is therefore rejected? Van Erp followed the main characters from 'Anxiety' (aged 23 to 62) for almost a year. The fears that the main characters suffer from is extremely paralyzing to their functioning. The main characters are rarely confronted with everyday life, with the harsh metropolitan reality. Their fears have made their lives small and limited: they are simply afraid to die of fear. While some of them drop out or stumble during their therapy in the film, others achieve great deeds. The film shows their struggle in the search for a solution.
