Burû Firumu no Onna plot
Kenzo, Mariko's father, has long had success as a private investor, but one day the stocks he had seen soar suddenly collapse and he is left with towering debt. In exchange for deferment of payment, landlord Uchiyama demands Kenzo's wife. He also forces her to satisfy his mentally handicapped son. After being abused by Uchiyama's son, she is hit by a car on her way home and dies. Due to the shock of her death, Kenzo becomes ill and has to stay in bed. Now Mariko has to take care of her sick father and earn a living.
