Grown in Detroit/Teen Moms Become Urban Farmers plot

The documentary shows a group of teenage mothers trying to build a new life: as urban farmers. They exchange fast food for fresh products and roll up their sleeves. The young girls grow their own fruit and vegetables on vacant lots in Detroit. Filmmakers Mascha and Manfred Poppenk follow the girls at the Catherine Ferguson Academy for three months and show how they change from teenage mothers to urban farmers.
