End of a Gun plot

"Where justice prevails."

Decker (Steven Seagal) is a former federal agent who earns his living as a mall security guard. He may only "observe and report" and never take any action. But when he crosses paths with Lisa (Jade Ewen) being beaten up by her boyfriend, Decker is forced to rescue her and kill the attacker. In lieu of congratulations, Decker is fired for his exploits and may face criminal charges. Lisa, who knows Decker's situation, asks him to help her steal $2 million from her boyfriend's car that is stored at the police depot. They successfully steal the money, but this only puts both of them in greater danger because the money had to be delivered to a drug lord. He sends a team of hitmen to get the money back. Meanwhile, the bodies pile up around Decker and now they're getting the police after them too...

Just as bad and ridiculous as Killing Salazar.

Seagal shot both this film and Killing Salazar in Romania in a short time. I can't rule out that this was the last one and the budget was already well spent. Because nothing happens for 80 minutes. Purely silly dialogues in shady, run-down locations. The infantile 'cast' is also literally a copy-paste from Killing Salazar.

The saddest part is that the 'story' is supposed to take place in Paris. All beautiful pictures of the Eiffel Tower and the Champs Elysees as stock footage are available to us as spectators. The actual location is of course a slum in Bucharest with the low point being a French flag strung on a bamboo branch on a lamppost.

No, this was really rubbish again. It made me laugh a little sometimes. And then it gets sad.

Actually quite an entertaining video from Seagal, which he owes not so much to himself but more to Florin Piersic Jr, he initially reminded me of that police officer from Stranger Things. (David Harbour)

He portrays a convincing bad guy, but unfortunately this does not apply to all his fellow players.

Jade Ewen also did a nice job, but obviously she has to focus more on her appearance.

As mentioned before, the film is not full of action, it feels more like a crime film. In itself a nice change, but the story remains wafer-thin and predictable.

Quite a tasty promotional snack! Easy to watch and lasts less than an hour and a half, which is long enough.

2.5*

Michael Decker [Steven Seagal] is an expat “and ex a lot of things”. So a federal agent who is doing secret work in Paris when he comes to the aid of Lisa Durant [Jade Ewen] in a major argument with nightclub owner Ronnie [Andrei Ciopec]. The argument ends in a shooting in which Ronnie dies. In gratitude, Lisa sleeps with Michael and proposes that he steal the $2 million Ronnie left in a car. Gage [Florin Piersic Jr.] thinks so and so a manhunt ensues. Steven Seagal with a shooting iron is boring as hell. The only reason why this lousy crime thriller escapes the lowest possible score is the fact that Seagal also uses his martial arts skills. The knife fight at the end makes this at most slightly better than those other international fluff productions that Seagal has been tying his name to for years.
