In Mei Rotterdam 1940 plot

In May 1940 the battle for the Netherlands was fought in Rotterdam. In this film, eleven eyewitnesses tell about their personal experiences at the time. Many of them were still children then, or as young men in the army. Soldiers in the house, dead in the street, a flight to safer places; in a few days, the peaceful life of the people of Rotterdam suddenly collapsed. The interviews are supplemented with fragments from archive films and recordings by film amateurs. These images are accompanied by excerpts from diaries and letters written by German soldiers.
