Havinck plot

Havinck is a successful Amsterdam lawyer, who gives the impression of going through life unmoved. When his wife is killed in an accident, flashbacks make it clear what really lies behind his cool mask. Havinck's daughter Eva unexpectedly finds her mother's suicide note and realizes what really happened. She confronts Havinck with the harsh reality: his failed marriage, the secret relationship with his mistress and his lack of attention for his own daughter. Lydia committed suicide, but Havinck feels guilty about it. However, he cannot be formally charged. Havinck succeeds in overcoming the emotional crisis he has found himself in. His broken relationship with his daughter Eva is also restored.
