Aljona, a beautiful shepherd's daughter, meets the young Wassja on her search for a runaway goat. They fall in love, but the evil wizard Kastschej wants to marry Aljona himself. So he casts a curse on Wassha, that he will die by fire, water, and copper pipes. Wassha survives the first two curses, so only the last curse can keep him from getting to his beloved.
