Megumi plot

The film tells the story of a dramatic disappearance. On November 15 of the year 1977, the Japanese schoolgirl Megumi Yokota disappeared from the face of the earth as if by magic. In the guise of the actress Janica Draisma, the filmmaker visits the coastal town of Niigata from which Megumi disappeared. After thirty years, the girl's family and environment are still stunned. Still in disbelief. Still full of unresolved grief. It has now been proven that Megumi was kidnapped by spies to North Korea. During that time, at least 13 people were kidnapped from Japan to teach North Korean spies to speak fluent and natural Japanese. Megumi's parents are convinced that their daughter is still alive, although North Korea claims she has committed suicide.
