Mechanical Love plot

The search for the role of robots in our current and future society takes director Phie Ambo to Japan, where professor Hiroshi Ishiguro investigates how human robots can become. Ishiguro has already made a lifelike clone of an existing human being, in this case of Ishiguro himself. Ambo questions Ishiguro and films him arguing with his students. Ambo also visits elderly women in Germany and Italy, who have been given seal-shaped robots as companion animals. Robots are advancing in our homes. But are they also a plausible substitute for human love?
