La Ferme des Sept Péchés plot
On April 10, 1825, Paul-Louis Courier, a noted pamphleteer, ardent Republican and staunch opponent of the Restoration, is found murdered along a forest trail near his farm. He had retired there for the last seven years to write his anti-government pamphlets and petitions in his spare time. The view of a possible suicide is immediately rejected. The royal judiciary opens an investigation and dispatches a prosecutor and a judge to the scene of the crime to question seven witnesses who knew the writer well.
