The Bulgarian filmmaker Adela Peeva goes in search of the roots of a song in the Balkans. The song in question is a very popular and catchy song that has been sung for centuries in countries such as Albania, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey and Greece. In some countries it is a romantic love song, in others a military march, while still other nations see it as an uplifting religious song. This leads to comic scenes - everywhere people are desperately trying to prove that only 'they' could have written such a beautiful song. But there are also hateful scenes.
