Leur Dernière Nuit plot
Madeleine Marsan comes from Limoges and rents a room in Paris in the family pension "Au Duc d'Aumale" run by Miss Mercier. She meets Pierre Ruffin, director of the municipal library, who gives her a job in education. But in reality, the peaceful official is a top man of a gangster gang. One evening, Madeleine notices that Pierre is injured in the shoulder. She takes care of him without question. The next day she reads in the newspaper that a robbery in the Rue de Paix had failed. Afterwards, when Pierre and his accomplices try to steal the money for the payment of the workers of a factory, he falls into the trap set by the police. During his transfer to prison, he manages to escape. He is frantically searched for, and he has only one source of help left: Madeleine, who is deeply sympathetic to him.
