V Ozhidanii Mmorya plot
Ship captain Marat was held responsible for an accident with his boat several years ago, in which the crew and his fiancée were killed. He ended up in jail, but has now been released. He decides to return to his native village, on the edge of the Aral Lake. To his great dismay, he notices that the lake has almost completely dried up in the meantime.
