Hringurinn plot

The Þjóðvegur 1 (National Road 1) or Hringvegur (Ring Road) is the main road in Iceland. As the name implies, it runs in a large circle around the island, connecting several important places. Icelandic director Friðrik Þór Friðriksson has made a film about the ring road. He mounted a camera on the roof of a car that took a picture every 12 meters. At a playback speed of 24 pictures per second, this resulted in an apparent driving speed of about 1200 kilometers per hour and one gets an impression of the landscape of Iceland.
