Der Rote Elvis plot

On June 17, 1986, the remains of Dean Reed are found on the edge of a lake in East Berlin. The American singer, actor, screenwriter and director has taken his own life. In the 1960s, he quickly became a teen idol in Latin America with his rock'n'roll ballads. In 1966 he moved to the Soviet Union where he undertook a politically oriented career, and the American soon became the socialist pop culture icon of the Cold War, traveling the world as a 'red rebel' and peacemaker. 'Der Rote Elvis' is a documentary about the eventful life of Dean Reed.
