Die Plötzliche Einsamkeit des Konrad Steiner plot
Konrad Steiner is a plucky 75-year-old shoemaker who lives somewhere in Zurich. He works in his studio in an old building. He still has his regular customers and is also loved by the children from the area. But one day his wife has a stroke and dies. Konrad is left alone and is not spared setbacks: the bailiff puts him outside his home because the building needs to be decorated. A young social worker is tasked with convincing him to go to a retirement home. But she soon realizes that Konrad, with his willfulness and his sense of freedom, doesn't belong there.
