Wartezimmer zum Jenseits plot
British millionaire Sir Cyrus Bradley is being blackmailed. In exchange for his life, he has to pay 100,000 pounds to a criminal organization that calls itself "The Turtle". Despite the warnings, he goes to the police and shortly afterwards - despite protection - he is murdered. His cousin enlists Micklem's help to apprehend the killers. The trail leads somewhere in a castle in Trieste to a crippled millionaire and nobleman, who is a ruthless misogynist. But the latter gets more and more problems with his accomplices and also with his wife....
