Concert pianist Philip meets waitress Helen over lunch in a restaurant. Although he is married to a psychotic wife, he falls for her and takes her on his sailboat. However, they are stranded by a storm and have to flee to an abandoned church, where Helen finds out that Philip is already married.

A quite serious drama for that time, it is striking how seriously and objectively the subject is addressed without condemning one or the other.
The two leading actors give a great performance and that takes the film to a higher level.
